A fun and spooky bread bowl shaped like a spider, perfect for Halloween gatherings, filled with your favorite dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 large round loaf of bread (sourdough or boule)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 8 black olives
  • 2 cups dip of choice (like creamy spinach, cheese, or guacamole)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the top off the round bread loaf and scoop out the insides.
  2. Brush the hollowed-out bread bowl with melted butter to promote browning.
  3. Fill the bread bowl with your prepared dip, ensuring it is heaping gently.
  4. Create the spider by rolling the reserved bread into small balls for the body and legs.
  5. Assemble the spider by attaching the legs to the body and placing it on top of the dip.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Use a thick crusted loaf to hold the dip well; avoid overfilling to prevent sogginess.
