A comforting dish with tender chicken breasts enveloped in a creamy sour cream and onion sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken: Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on each chicken breast, ensuring they’re well coated.
  3. Cook the chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Set aside the chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  5. Sauté the onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté until they are softened and translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Make the sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the sour cream, mixing thoroughly and heating until warmed through, but do not let it boil.
  7. Combine and serve: Return the chicken to the skillet and coat each breast with the creamy sauce. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Ensure chicken is of even thickness for uniform cooking. Add vegetables or spices for variations.
