Ingredients
4 chicken thighs
4 chicken legs
2 cups apple cider
Salt and pepper to taste
2 apples, sliced into wedges
2 tablespoons butter
Fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the chicken: In a large pot, add the chicken thighs and legs. Pour in the apple cider and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Start cooking: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cover the pot and cook for about 45 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
Caramelize the apples: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted, add the apple wedges and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
Serve: Once the chicken is done, carefully place it in a bowl, ladle some of the cider sauce over the top, and then arrange the fried apple wedges beside it. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
Notes
Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) before serving. Adjust cooking times according to chicken size.
